Oud (also called agarwood, dehn al oud, or eaglewood) is one of the world's most precious and expensive natural fragrances. It is extracted from the resinous heartwood of Aquilaria trees when infected with a specific mold (Phialophora parasitica).

- Only 2% of Aquilaria trees naturally produce oud resin
- Trees must be 20-50+ years old to produce quality oud
- Harvesting and distillation is highly labor-intensive
